Where History & Hospitality Meet.

Stay, Dine & Explore. Make the Grand Hotel Your Gateway to Yellowstone.

Great old style hotel! We stayed at the Grand Hotel for several nights while fly fishing the Yellowstone River. Big Timber is a quaint old Montana town that makes everyone feel welcome. The hotel has numerous rooms with private baths and also shared ones in the hallway. Our room was in the back and extremely comfortable. Prices at the bar couldn’t be beat. The dinner menu had numerous choices and the food was very good.

I plan to come back next year and bring friends. Also went to the rodeo one night. Great entertainment and these people are very patriotic. Makes you proud to be an American.

Our regular stay when we do Beartooth Pass
This place has it all: character, location, great pub/restaurant, and a variety of rooms to suit, if you’re travelling in a group.

I prefer to have a room with a private bathroom, but I have stayed in the rooms where you have to use the communal showers, and they are surprisingly clean. It definitely would not deter me from booking here if those are the only rooms left.

This hotel was undoubtedly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The hotel rooms and bathrooms had a really nice retro style but not at all in an outdated way. Everything was super clean and just all around wonderful. The staff were more than excellent. Each staff member we met (in both the hotel and restaurant) was extremely accommodating and kind. They did whatever they could to make sure our stay was as fabulous as possible; and all with a huge smile on their face!

The food was spectacular. The steak was cooked to perfection; pastas were seasoned deliciously; and the appy’s were quick and tasty. Even if you’re just passing through big timber I would 100% recommend stopping here to eat, if not to stay overnight.

I love this place. Came back again this year. Spent several days fly fishing the lower Yellowstone River. Quaint small town with a rodeo weekly. The Grand rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is extremely good and all prices are more than reasonable. The people of Montana couldn’t be more courteous.

Stopped past on the way back to Billings. So very glad we did! Excellent meal, large servings, delicately thin onion rings, fresh salads, perfectly prepared trout, and the "bar special" beef dinner. Too much to eat it all. Bring your appetite. Expect great service & friendly locals. We shall return!!
